Inspired by classic street lamps and the raw textures of urban skate parks, the Street Light Cat Post is a handcrafted scratch and lounge tower built like real infrastructure—not disposable pet furniture.
Standing 26 inches tall, it features a solid 18″ × 9¾″ Baltic birch base reinforced with a drilled concrete slab and industrial angle iron. The pine fir stud is fully anchored through wood and concrete, creating a foundation that will not tip, wobble, or loosen like mass-produced posts.
The lamp-style loft head, made from ¾″ Baltic birch, is shaped for natural cat loafing and topped with a replaceable padded mat secured with heavy-duty Velcro. Stability comes from a hardwood neck and dual support braces, weight-tested up to 40 lbs, making it suitable for larger cats and multi-cat homes.
Designed as part of the Mala Copa Skate Cat Ramp system, the post stores cleanly and doubles as a functional drop-in feature, becoming part of the terrain when in use.
An included motion-sensor LED street light brings the piece to life, offering adjustable color temperature, brightness, and multiple modes in a USB-C rechargeable, magnet-mounted unit that’s easy to remove and recharge.
Craft details:
A ¼″ Baltic birch rear panel conceals internal structure
Low-VOC paint and fully sanded surfaces for paw safety
6 mm gray sisal rope wraps the hardwood neck and braces
A replaceable cork scratch top, accented with real skateboard truck hardware
Velcro-mounted scratch carpet on the stud for future replacement
An included decorative cardboard scratch panel with hardware
Assembly takes 20–30 minutes and includes a screwdriver.
This isn’t just a cat scratch post.
It’s street furniture, built with intention, designed to be used, serviced, and evolved over time.
Urban. Modular. Built like the street.
